The style of leadership is very important as it must always be properly adapted to the situation and coincide with the solutions to a certain type of challenges a person or organization might face. Thereafter, the objective of the following paper is to answer certain questions related to leadership styles, behaviors, and situations in terms of work within an organization.
The video case was about Phil Jackson, whose incredible leadership style as a couch enabled him to empower the team members to achieve very high results. His philosophy is about the ‘wolf and his pack’, where the pack is nothing without a wolf and vice versa. This is a democratic and at the same time autocratic leadership style, but there are certain difficulties, and the main one is what happens if the leader of the team goes away. It is critical for the team to function efficiently even when the team leader is not there; otherwise, this might be a problem in a business realm.
Leadership has a very serious impact on the commitment, satisfaction, and overall performance of the employees. Moreover, with the proper leadership in place, the retention rate is always lower. The matter is that leaders know how to empower people, set strong but achievable objectives, and lead organizations as well as their staff to continuous improvements.
The ramifications to the organizations with a poor leadership might be as bad as the loss of market share, high people’s turnover, and final closure of the organization. Leaders are the ones who ‘make’ and ‘create’ the organization, and this is not only about the official management board. This is about the commitment to the organization’s goals and objectives, as well as to people and customers, which would enable the business to grow and bring not only profits but work satisfaction to its atsff as well as many benefits to the surrounding communities.
